High Availability
When downtime is not an option and your Recovery Time Objective (RTO) is measured in MINUTES
Then you need to take a serious look at a serious solution, OnQ - the One-Click Failover High Availability solution from Covenco for both Physical and Virtual Servers.
OnQ is a unique solution, designed to replicate each Windows server in real time to a Virtualised Appliance, which delivers One-Click Failover should a server fail, placing all of your applications and data back online within minutes of a storage, system or an entire site failure. The architecture provides for automatic replication, delivering both local and remote disaster recovery.
OnQ takes the best design functionality from the proven backup and DR technologies of the day:

Automation and restoration of services.
OnQ provides a complete automation environment for backup, virtual machine build and server failover. This provides the IT group an easy way to remotely restore services from home or while travelling.
Proof
IT managers are confident that their systems are actually protected and in high availability state. Virtual machines can be run in the included test network environment at any time. Jobs can be run on the VM’s to prove they are production ready and data bases are restorable to operation.
OnQ brings much more than Backup and Disaster Recovery
Operational management benefits
While the primary benefits of using OnQ are to establish Business Continuity by providing high availability as well as disaster recovery, there are a number of other significant benefits that will be highly appreciated by System Administrators.
Server Management Console
This web based console shows the global status and availability of all your operational servers, plus the availability of standby virtual machines that are ready to run in the case of unforeseen failure. You will also have instant visibility of the status of the last backup and the availability of virtual machines on the DR site.
Server migration
The capability to migrate physical servers to upgraded hardware is easily accomplished using OnQ. Rather than try to migrate machines at downtime periods in the middle of the night (and hope the task can be completed) OnQ allows you to run the virtual standby machine inside the appliance to take over production load. The Systems Administrators are then free to configure a new machine during normal business hours. OnQ then performs a bare metal restore onto the new machine which can then be verified. Control can then be passed from the ONQ virtual machine to the new physical machine.
Server software upgrade and patches
OnQ provides a virtual ‘sandbox network’ where virtual machines can be accessed without interrupting your production network or environment. IT staff are able to bring up virtual machines on an internal test network and log into them using the supplied virtual console. New software upgrades can be applied to these machines and tested giving the IT group the capability to do a test or practice upgrade in normal business hours. One the upgrade has been verified the virtual machine can be reverted back to its original state.
Global control
In the OnQ solution any virtual server can be accessed and run both from the primary location as well as the secondary (DR) location. This allows centralized control from the main data centre as well as allowing individual sites to access their virtual machines and files.
